AN EMERGENCY ROOM EXPERIENCE FOR THE LAYPERSON

Image
A BUSY EMERGENCY ROOM     No one really knows when an emergency can happen. One thing is clear,   in case of a medical emergency, a person or family member may have to go to the Emergency Room.                                                                        Above, someone has arrived in the Emergency Room. While awaiting  treatment, she notices all kinds of action. This may not be directly  concerning that person, but it still increases one's fears.  It is advisable to stay calm until the medical staff discusses the nature of the problem and the type of treatment that would be necessary. CODE BLUE IN PROGRESS Above is another Emergency Room situation. A Code Blue is called overhead. What does this mean to the layperson? It simply means someone's heart has stopped beating and  the medical staff is being summoned to start CPR immediately. A simple explanation by the medical staff, may help to  alleviate fear.
