DIABETES INSIPIDUS FOR THE LAYPERSON

It is important for the layperson to understand the different types of diabetes.
In other posts, Diabetes Mellitus for the layperson was discussed.

Diabetes Insipidus should not be confused with Diabetes Mellitus.
The image above is a reflection of the what could possibly trigger
diabetes insipidus.

The pituitary gland which is located in the base of the skull secretes
a hormone which controls our urinary output. Sometimes after injury
to this gland, either by surgical procedures or an accident, the hormone
is interrupted. Medical diagnosis and medications are needed to manage
the problem.
