IDENTIFYING AND DIAGNOSING STROKE FOR THE LAYPERSON

The image above, indicates that someone is having a diagnostic test done.
The test is called a CAT scan. When someone is having stroke symptoms,
medical intervention is necessary so a diagnosis can be made.Treatment
will be directed at the cause.

A stroke or brain attack may be embolic or hemorrhagic in nature.
An embolic stroke may result from obstruction to blood flow by a
blood clot. A hemorrhagic stroke on the other hand, is caused by
bleeding in the brain. The causes may vary.
