UNDERSTANDING COMA FOR THE LAYPERSON

 

Hi guys,

In the image above, a patient who has been in a car accident,
is in the hospital. Her sister is visiting and asks the nurse
about her progress. She receives negative feedback.


Many people are not aware, that patients who are in a coma
can still hear. There are situations where patients awaken, 
after being in a coma and relate everything that was being
said.

Please be cautious about what is said when speaking over
a comatose patient!
